Your lecturer Sonja Coetzee informed me of an assignment for the course OPV 364. With info given through to me, I would like to suggest the following:

1: The vulnerability of children due to HIV/AIDS, poverty unemployment, etc.

Possible keywords to use:
child* (child/children), vulnerab* (vulnerable/vulnerability/etc) socio-economic or socioeconomic, HIV/AIDS, poverty, illitera* (illiteracy/illiterate/etc), etc

Searching for books:
Searching for information from books, on this topic, would most probably also take you to level 1 at Hatfield Campus Library. If you only want to retrieve books at the library on Groenkloof Campus, do an Advanced search on the catalogue and specify your location as Groenkloof Campus.

Searching for journal articles:
Make use of ERIC and SAePublication from Education Databases on our website http://www.library.up.ac.za/edu/. The above mentioned keywords would also do.

2:To find information on the role (pastoral role) the teacher can play in helping vulnerable children, I suggest you use the journal - "Pastoral Care in Education". It can be found via:

• Academic Search Premier from "Education databases" http://www.library.up.ac.za/edu/edudatabases.htm. Enter the title of the journal (Pastoral Care in Education) in the "Publication" field or, in "Select a field". Add other search terms as well to narrow your search down. The articles will then be searched in the specific journal.
• "Journals" where you search the journal (Pastoral Care in Education) in electronic format.
